Dear parents and carers,
We are pleased that, following a visit before Christmas, Ofsted has reported positively on the ‘effective action’ being taken at Landau Forte Academy Moorhead.
In particular, we welcome their recognition of staff’s determination to improve the quality of education and to embed our values of ‘dream, believe and achieve’ across the school.
Amongst the positive points made, Ofsted has praised the improvements in the teaching of early years; and maths and phonics ; as was the better support now available to pupils with SEND, which we plan to develop in the weeks and months ahead. As Ofsted has recognised, we are determined to improve pupils’ personal development and, in line with feedback, will now focus on further improving behaviour, including by building on our positive partnerships within the community.
The monitoring report provides useful recommendations for us to consider and build on the upwards trajectory of the school whilst ensuring our pupils receive the high standard of education they deserve.
This is the second ‘effective action’ report that the school has received over two consecutive monitoring visits in addition to receiving the Quality Mark awards for English, Maths and Early years provision.
I look forward to sharing with you more of our progress over the coming weeks and months.
May I also take this opportunity to thank you for your continuing support to the school.
Kind regards
Mrs R McNeil
Headteacher
