Governance

Landau Forte Charitable Trust has a clear governance structure in place overseen by a Board of Trustees. Each Academy has its own Education Advisory Committee (see below) with the authority to create additional subcommittees for the discharge of their responsibilities.

The membership of the Board of Trustees and Education Advisory Committee Bodies is clearly defined in the Trust’s Articles of Association, which are publicly available on the Trust’s website.

Mr Christopher Thomas

Governor

Being a past student at Landau Forte College Derby, I want to be able to offer students at Moorhead the same excellent education and opportunities that I benefitted from during my time within the trust.

This is my first school governor role and I am very enthusiastic to get going. I know it will be a steep learning curve but I am hoping I can bring my experience of driving quality & performance in large organisations and sharing best practice between providers to positively contribute to Moorhead’s aspirations for its students. I work for the NHS across the Midlands, helping organisations to work collaboratively and provide mutual aid.

At home, my wife and I have two children that are primary school age and a young daughter that was born during lockdown. We also have a greyhound called Remy, who loves showing off how fast he is on the local park.

Ms Laura O'Leary (Chair)

Governor

Mr Matt Allison

Governor

I have worked in the IT sector throughout the last 35 years of my career.  Our services covered both private and public sector customers including education.

I have 2 daughters aged 18 and 20 both of whom play hockey to a good standard.  When Repton Hockey Club was established, I offered my IT skills to help automate the club’s administrative functions and have led the digital, media and cyber aspects of the club since its creation.  As a parent, manager, and committee member I have close contact with the children who train and play for us with ages ranging from 8 to 18.  Nothing gives me more satisfaction than seeing young people develop, both on and off the hockey pitch, and I was also able to help several of our senior members into full time employment, taking the first step in their career after finishing university.

This is my first time as a Governor, and I am looking forward to working as part of the team and making a contribution to Landau Forte Academy Moorhead.
